June - Riverview 5k  - Bummed I missed signing up for this one. It's one of my favorites!
Sept - Gatorade/Steelers 5k. (Signed up!)
Sept - IKEA Montour Trail Half  (prob not, but leaving it on here)
Sept - The Great Race 10k (My Running 101 goal race)
Nov - Dirt Monster 5mi (Gotta do it again no matter what!)

Long-Term Running Goals:

Finish recovering from my injuries and build mileage.  That is all.

Personal:

My name is Wes, I'm married with two wonderful children. The nickname BaldNSpicy came from the fact that I have been balding for a (long) while now and spicy for my love of very spicy foods (Thai and extremely hot wings are my favorites).  If eating doesn't bring me near tears and leave me sweating, it's not worth eating.  :-)

Oh, and I'm also known for my doorags.

I knew it was going to be cooler today so I brought my long sleeved shirt - no way was I doing the treadmill again!  I hadn't looked at the weather and didn't expect rain until tomorrow.  No biggie, I enjoy the rain.  41F by the time I got out but with the windchill, it was about 34F.  By the time I got back, the rain was turning to mixed, so definitely below freezing.

Great run, but still getting a bit of pain in the left foot again after about 1.5mi (outside or TM) so I'll go see my podiatrist when I get back from my trip.  Not a run stopper, but definitely something going on there...again.

Pace was good (low 9s). My only regret was forgetting my gloves.  I grabbed them out of my gym bag for the campout last weekend since it was going to be just cold enough to need a little something, and forgot to put them back in.

I stopped in at RiteAid to grab a soda (and change for the bus) on my way home and they now have Egg Nog!  OH SWEET NECTAR OF THE GODS!!

Let's see...I burned approx. 100 cals per mile?  After drinking the quart, I should have put in another...8 miles!  OUCH!  Glad I didn't have time for lunch, I guess...

Yummmmm, Egg Nog. Hope that the podiatrist can help you get that foot fixed. The weather sounds like it is here, not great but not awful. I have been a gym rat lately so I cannot really say much about the weather. Hope your trip goes well!

Wow, you get a lot of bang for your buck with egg nog!

Rain when it's hot = good. Rain when it's cold - bad!

Thanks Steve. Sounds like you share my love of Egg Nog! The foot is the same as it was last year when they said I had a stress fracture but even after months off of it and the Orthopedist doc saying it was healed, it never felt any better. I'll go back to my podiatrist and see what she says. I'm not convinced I have/had a stress fracture - I never could see it on the XRays and when I asked the doc & technician to show it to me, it was more of a...well, it's right about here... So, I think it may be a neuroma problem again, even though that was supposed to have been cured by the orthopedist before they decided it was a stress fracture...

Joe - I couldn't agree more with the rain, but running outside in the rain - hot or cold = good vs. TM = bad. :-)
