Short-Term Running Goals:

Runs for 2011

Injured so didn't run these:

January 8- Frigid 5 mile
February 26 - Spring Thaw (10, 15 or 20 mi)
March 26 - Just a Short Run Half

May 7 - River Towns Marathon
June 11 - Riverview 5k
Sept 4 - Gatorade/Steelers 5k.

Sept 10 - IKEA Montour Trail Half  Not gonna happen due to lack of training :-(
Sept 25 - The Great Race 10k (59:15)
Nov 5 - Dirt Monster 5mi (52:59)

2012 Runs:

First Marathon - Crossing fingers for an injury free training fall/winter 2011.  Looking forward to running it with Steve

Jan ? - Frigid 5mi
March ? - Just a Short Run

May ? - River Towns Marathon or Pittsburgh Marathon

Sept ? - Air Force Marathon (maybe - mostly because they've got a killer medal.  Hey, if I'm not going to win the races, I'd might as well do the ones that have cool finisher's medals!)

Nov - Marine Corps Marathon (very tentative - my wife wants me to do it if it means another trip to DC in 2012  haha)

Long-Term Running Goals:

I'd just like to be able to run...recovering from injury is no fun!

PSA to all those injured for any length of time:  Do something - anything - to keep the cardio, stretching, and strength up!  I've lost virtually everything over the 6 months off - partly due to the stress fracture, probably more laziness, but some to work/time restrictions.  Bad excuses and I'm paying for it now.

Personal:

Hi everyone! My name is Wes, I'm married with two wonderful children (daughter is 16 and son is 12). I reached the Masters level this last year.  BaldNSpicy came from the fact that I have been balding for a (long) while now and spicy for my love of very spicy foods (Thai and extremely hot wings are my favorites).  I go through Tabasco, Franks Red Hot, and many more exotic/extreme sauces like others go through ketchup.  It goes on almost everything.  If eating doesn't bring me near tears and leave me sweating, it's not worth eating.  :-)

Oh, and I'm also known for my doorags.

Nothing like a 63.0 mi week to make you feel like you made the right decision to sign up for the full marathon in May!

I have to decide this weekend if I'm doing the full or the half.  Gotta sign up and pay for it.  Would anyone put money on me being able to train for and finish the full the first week of May?  If no one would, I'm switching to the half.  :-)
